Questions & answers

Frequently asked questions

Can I use SketchRx now?

Yes. SketchRx is open for the 2026–27 application cycle. Create an account with email or Google to start building your sketch, and your work will stay synced across your devices.

Is this affiliated with OMSAS or OUAC?

No. SketchRx is an independent drafting tool. OMSAS is run by the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC), which has no connection to this site and does not endorse it. You draft here, then copy your entries into the official application yourself. Never enter your OMSAS or OUAC login on this site.

Is it free?

Yes, completely. Every part of SketchRx is free to use: all 32 entries, the CanMEDS mapping, verifier tracking, top-3 planning, and export. There is no paid tier, no trial, and nothing to buy. We don't run ads and we don't sell anyone's data.

Do I need an account?

Yes. Your sketch saves to your account, so it is backed up and available on any device you sign in from. You can create an account with email or Google.

Where is my data stored?

Your sketch is stored as a private record connected to your SketchRx account. It is not kept in your browser. The optional AI-suggest feature sends only the entry you choose to the service so it can propose CanMEDS tags. You can export your sketch or request account deletion.

What is the CanMEDS mapping for?

CanMEDS is the Royal College's framework of seven physician roles. Tag each activity with the roles it shows and SketchRx maps your coverage so you can spot gaps before submitting. These tags are a private planning aid and are never sent to a school.

Does it match the real OMSAS format?

SketchRx mirrors the OMSAS ABS structure: up to 32 entries across six activity categories, a live 150-character counter on each description, verifier tracking, and uOttawa and Queen's top-3 planning.

Will anything be submitted from here?

No. SketchRx never submits anything to OMSAS or a medical school. When you are ready, use the Export tab to copy each field into the official application or print your entry sheet.
